The Wellfield Botanic Gardens are a hidden gem in the city of Elkhart, Indiana. This beautiful park features over 20 different themed gardens and has a half mile walking path that twists and turns around the gardens giving visitors plenty to explore and see.

The Wellfields sit on 36 acres and 18 of those acres contain beautiful water features from rivers to lakes to waterfalls. You’ll enjoy gorgeous scenery while overlooking the these water features, for example, the Japanese Garden that sits on an island in the Wellfield park.

There is the Elkhart river running through the Wellfield Gardens adding to the beauty of the nature park, from the sounds of the water flowing to the birds chirping.

In the Winter, Wellfields decorates their gardens with over 1.2 million Christmas lights and puts on a holiday festival & light show that runs through the month of December. It’s a great time of year to grab photos of the light festival at night while sipping on hot cocoa and you can check out the different fire places throughout the gardens if you wish to stop and warm up for a few minutes. This event has special 5:30pm to 9pm hours.

Wellfield Botanic Gardens offers a membership option if you’d like to join and access the benefits of membership. These include free admission year round as well as many special discounts to various sponsors/partners of Wellfield Gardens.
