Kerchers Sunrise Orchards sits on over 300 acres and provides the local community with a large selection of fresh produce, with many different fruits and vegetables to choose from.

You’ll find 19 different types of apples, peaches, sweet corn, cabbage, pumpkins, and more!. In addition to fresh produce you can also find jams and jellies, popcorn, noodles and morel mushrooms when in season.

During the fall months, Kerchers puts on fun family activities including a hayride and pumpkin picking. You can also do U-pick apple picking during apple season and take a guided apple tour. More info below.

The Kercher Family have been cultivating the land for over 100 years and over 6 generations, starting with William Kercher in 1922 and the business has since passed on to Tom and Maureen Kercher. It has expanded from 40 acres to now over 300 acres. William Kercher began the business by planting apple trees at his home in Goshen on 7th Street.

Today, Kerchers Sunrise Orchards is located on the south side of Goshen, Indiana in Elkhart County on County Road 38 which is south of Kercher Road and west on IN-15. The Kercher Farm sits along the Elkhart River.

Guide Apple Tour

Check out Kercher’s guided apple tour. The guided tour will last approximately 1 hour. Admission is $5 per child and $4 per adult. This is a fun event you can plan to do with your family and the tour includes the following.

  1. Picking Apples – You’ll be allowed to pick 3 apples each as part of the tour
  2. Hay Ride – sit back and relax as you ride around the Orchard on a fun hay ride
  3. Apple Cider – enjoy a cup of apple cider, home made from the Kercher Orchards
  4. Cornfield Walk – adventure through the cornfield while listening to “corny” jokes
  5. Choose a Gourd – everyone will get to go out into the Gourd patch and choose 1 gourd to take home.

U Pick Pumpkins

Starting the last two weeks of September and heading into every weekend of October, you will be welcome to come out to Kercher’s Orchards and pick pumpkins! The activity starts with a fun hayride through the orchards to get back to the pumpkin patch for pumpkin picking. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes in case of muddy grounds.

U Pick Apples

Apple picking runs from September into November but schedule will vary by the weather. During the U Pick Apples activity you’ll have a variety of apples to choose from. Certain types of apples will be available for picking certain weeks.
