What to Know About the Ruthmere
The Ruthmere in Elkhart Indiana is a historic campus featuring two historic properties, the Ruthmere Mansion and the Beardsley House where visitors and tourists can learn about history, art, and architecture.
If you’re into history you’ll want to take a guided tour and learn about the Beardsley family and their ties to the city of Elkharts history. There’s even a street named after them called Beardsley Street.
You can also learn all about the history of architecture of Elkhart and check out the museum to learn about Elkhart’s art history as well.
The Ruthmere Museum is a nationally registered site, called the Beardsley Historic District Neighborhood and can be found in the National Register of Historic Places.
Where is Ruthmere Campus Located?
The Ruthmere is located in Elkhart, Indiana on the corner of Beardsley Ave. and Grove St. It’s just north of downtown Elkhart overlooking the St Joseph River and Island Park. You can turn onto Beardsley from Main Street if you’re coming from downtown Elkhart.
Programs & Memberships
The Ruthmere Campus has several different programs. These include Free Family Sundays, Garden Programs, Coffee on the Piazza, Teas at Ruthmere, Patriotic Series, Classical Music Concerts, Holiday Tours, Gallery Talks, Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social, Book Club, and more special events!
The Ruthmere offers memberships as well for individuals, families, students, and businesses.
